What we do
We grow vegetables, herbs, and a handful of stubborn fruit trees at 98 Hortense St, Maribyrnong. Members tend their own individual plots, small or large, while shared beds, fruit trees, and common areas are cared for together at working bees.
How the garden runs
Members tend their own plots making good use of the free seedlings and shared tools. We come together once a month for a working bee to look after the communal plots, the orchard, the citrus grove and the compost. We maintain the garden beds, the tools and equipment. We enjoy morning tea and share news and gardening tips. The elected committee has overall responsibility for the running of the garden.
